Children’s Sunday School   Leave a comment

September 3rd our Children will begin a new study during Sunday School.

The purpose of Treasure Seekers is to give children a solid understanding of who God is, and the amazing ways in which His character and actions can make a difference in our lives. In today’s world, so much of everyday life seems separated from the plans and promises of God. This course is designed to help preschool, elementary, and middle school age children connect their daily lives with their growing awareness of God.

Each session provides the opportunity to guide children in exploring a foundational characteristic of God. Children need to know such truths as: God Creates, God Knows Me, God is Wise and Good, God Loves and Forgives Me. In all, Children are introduced to 13 of God’s Attributes, helping them begin to understand who God is and what God is like.

As a child’s view of God may range from the fanciful to the fearful, after 13 Treasure Seekers sessions, your children will be well on their way to developing a loving and trysting relationship with  the God who made us all and whose desire is for each person to come to know and love him.

A team of creative, talented and dedicated individuals offers this ministry – and not just within the walls of The Baptist Temple.  They are willing to travel to hospitals, nursing homes, schools, fairs . . . anywhere they can be used to tell the story of life in Jesus.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” Ecclesiastes 9:10

Willing Hands applies this verse with every performance. The group is open to any member of the congregation who has “willing hands” and a “willing heart” to help spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

ALMOST A SONG!   Leave a comment

  • Every Tuesday at 6 PM, folks in and around our church building are treated to the harmonious sounds of “Almost a Song,” a group of non-professional musicians who love to get together for a jamfest. Fiddles, bases, guitars and various other stringed instruments raise a ruckus as the musicians play bluegrass, gospel, country and Celtic tunes. “Almost a Song” has entertained at festivals and events around the Mountain State. Newcomers and guests are welcome – call Leigh Ann Hood at 304.368.0523, or just show up!
